Mandate: To collect, preserve and present historical and contemporary crafts within the cultural mosaic of Manitoba.

History

The Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library collections were established in the early 1930s by the Crafts Guild of Manitoba. The Guild folded in 1997, and the museum and library is now operated independently.


Programs/Services

Exhibits The Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library showcases three exhibitions yearly. Each features craft from the museum collections and/or work from the Manitoba craft community.
Workshops The Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library offers a variety of workshops throughout the year. Call or check our website for details.
Artisans Market The Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library holds a Spring Artisans Market in April, and a Festive Artisans Market in November, both juried sales of local crafters.
Made By You The Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library holds a yearly fundraiser, usually in October, which features mini-craft workshops, a silent auction, refreshments and other craft related activities.

Library The Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library maintains a collection of 3,500+ books, patterns, journals, and other printed material. It is available to the general public on-site and our members may borrow most items.
