Mission

Jazz Winnipeg is a non-profit organization promoting the art of jazz through concert presentations and community outreach. As producers of the annual Jazz Winnipeg festival, as well as concerts and workshops throughout the year, Jazz Winnipeg is a vibrant and essential organization, dedicated to the enrichment of Winnipeg's cultural community.


Programs/Services

TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival The organization's largest, most prominent event is the 10-day festival featuring today's best jazz, blues and urban music. Each June, more than 40,000 music fans converge on Winnipeg’s downtown for 10 days of exceptional live music.
Nu Sounds Series The Nu Sounds Series features the best local jazz musicians in exciting contexts presenting new material and/or collaborations. Concerts take place at The Park Theatre on Osborne Street and draw between 750 and 1,000 people annually.
Jazz on Wheels Jazz on Wheels features professional musicians performing for free from the back of a traveling "rolling stage." Bringing music to inner city neighbourhoods, the program provides today’s urban youth with positive artistic experiences, helping them to discover new creative outlets.
Jazz Labs The Jazz Labs are a series of workshops led by experienced and talented professional musicians. Covering a wide range of topics from repertoire to music technique to the business of being a touring artist, the sessions are free to all participants.
Concert Series Throughout the year, Jazz Winnipeg produces concerts from some of today's most prominent and talented touring artists such as Jesse Cook, Jill Barber, Sophie Milman and Michael Kaeshammer.
Dig! Magazine Jazz Winnipeg publishes 6 issues per year in cooperation with Editors Steve and Anna-Lisa Kirby and Charlene Diehl. Dig is an independent magazine devoted to promoting an awareness of the jazz culture in Winnipeg.
